In SITAU MX (Multiplexed) equipments, the number of active channels is less than the total number of array elements. It is the most demanded solution, because linear and angular scans can be performed by multiplexing the active aperture over the whole array extent.

Standard SITAU MX models have 32 active channels, which are multiplexed to 128 array elements. Other multiplexing schemes can be manufactured on demand.
