Non Destructive Testing (NDT) has become an essential activity in certain industrial fields where the integrity of critical parts and components must be ensured, performing inspections during the manufacturing process as well as during the service.

Ultrasound is one of the most used technology for NDT, but the correct selection of a particular technique (conventional, TOFD, phased-array, etc) depends of several factors like the material type, required resolution and defect size, scanning speed, etc.
